Terrorist Threats
Otherwise known as criminal threats, include willfully threatening to commit a crime that will result in death or great bodily injury to another person, with the specific intent that the statement, made verbally, in writing, or by means of an electronic communication device, is to be taken as a threat even if there is no intent to actually carry it out. The threat must, on its face, convey to the person threatened a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution of the threat. Further, it must cause the person to reasonably sustain fear for his or her own safety or that of his or her immediate family.
Consequences may include:
- Imprisonment
- Loss of right to vote
- Probation or Parole
- Anger Management Classes
- Significant Fines
- Loss of right to own dangerous weapon

- Defense of others
- Factual innocence
- Insufficient evidence

What you can do if you are accused:
- Document your good character/reputation
- Remain silent
- Create a diary of all significant events and witnesses
- Retain a competent attorney
