Embezzlement
is the fraudulent appropriation of property by a person to whom it has been entrusted. There are two basic elements of the crime: (1) entrustment of property to the accused; and (2) appropriation with the intent to defraud. This crime typically occurs in business environments such as corporate or employment settings.
